Let me admit a few truths, in order to introduce myself; I've just turned 50 last month (October 2011), and ever since I first knew what a Robot was, I always wanted to draw them. And because of that need to create them, I sort of dreamed of working in fields where I could do that (namely: Comic Books). But before I hit college, I realized that I did NOT have the discipline, or the skill, to even entertain that idea. Graphic Design became a higher calling... that's where I am today.  So, when indicating "Professional" when signing up for DA, it was in regards to my career as a Graphic Designer.  I just don't wish to confuse anyone; I am NOT a professional artist, by any standard.  Let me know if I need to change that.

More than two weeks into my Deviant Arts Membership, I am FLOORED by the younger talent posting their art here, and I feel like a Dinosaur - - Artists using Wacom tablets to create Robots and Spacecraft and Mutants, in ways that I only dreamed of. When I was a kid, the only place to see art like this was on a paperback book, on a movie poster, or (slightly later, in my teen years) when Heavy Metal arrived on the shores of the U.S.  WOW!  And the Realism! The model rendering programs that you're using, to design mech suits and weapons, and characters for games, and on, and on.

Well, you all have inspired me, but I have to play to my weaknesses - - I'm NOT a great renderer, I'm half-assed on Photoshop, and I wouldn't know what to do with 3D software, I'm pretty much "old school" - - but I can be inspired, and I can learn (well, maybe a little; old dogs don't always like to learn new tricks), and I have all of you to Thank. I see some BRILLIANT works at DA, everytime I click on! Thank You all, very much!
